Sixth ‘Champagne on the Sheepscot’ fundraiser in the works

Members of the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association met in April to begin planning the SVCA's sixth annual "Champagne on the Sheepscot" fundraiser, to be held this year in Newcastle at an historic saltwater farm on Cunningham Island in the Marsh River — a tributary of the Sheepscot.
The 145-acre island is protected from further development by a conservation easement held by SVCA and is connected to the mainland by a short causeway over a salt marsh. SVCA is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, so the committee is working to make this year’s event especially memorable.
The event is Saturday, September 13, 4:30-7 p.m. Please make a note in your calendar and plan to join us for delectable hors d'oeuvres, drinks and live music.
Tickets are $40, or $125 to become a patron of the event. For more information, contact the SVCA at 207-586-5616 or svca@sheepscot.org.
