Snakes at story hour
What can you do with a paper plate, bubble wrap, paint and a scissor? Create a pet snake with scales and all! The children at the Wiscasset Public Library’s story hour learned from two stories that snakes have feelings too! “Blake the Snake” by Randy Siegel and “Mother’s Day Surprise” by Stephen Krensky are two “tales” of the challenges snakes endure because of only having “tails.”
After painting the paper plate with a rolling pin covered in bubble wrap, we cut the plate in a spiral and attached snake eyes and tongue to replicate a snakes characteristics. Story hour is every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for all good listeners who would enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow. We are located at 21 High Street, Wiscasset.
