Stay the course
Dear Editor:
We are on the cusp of a massive reset in the course of our nation. After decades of watching our manufacturing and jobs going overseas, our exploding trade deficit, a massive increase in government workers, and our liberties sacrificed for various causes, things have changed. Now the long-suffering working class have installed a new sheriff and his deputies in Washington. Headlines on Friday were “The number of jobs created in March exceeded expectations by nearly a hundred thousand.”
The Trump train is leaving the station. Businesses are coming back, and borders have been closed. Criminals are leaving our country, and our streets are safer. Our newly empowered Border Patrol can stop the flood of drugs into the country. An invasion has been stopped, lives will be saved, and jobs will go to our citizens and people who are legally here.
DOGE and some of our best and brightest are identifying tens of billions in fraud. For the first time, a president is standing up to the entrenched bureaucracy and their minions and is closing the money spigot and naming names. This is taxpayer money and becomes debt that our grandchildren will pay. Another crisis, that of massive government waste and fraud, is being stopped.
Social Security, a promise made to our seniors, is being saved. For decades politicians strayed far from the concept that money paid in by working men and women would be returned to them in retirement. Now DOGE is finding impossibly old individuals in the system and presumably many more billions in waste and fraud. A rework of the Social Security system can only make it stronger.
Trump, and his team are making brave and bold moves to the shock of the entrenched deep state, the fraudsters, the grifters, and their useful supporters. The disloyal opposition is fighting back. They want failure at any cost. A dangerous world is watching. They are hoping the quiet revolution, initiated at the ballot box, and driven by working class patriots will fail and they can go back to business as usual. Pay attention folks, the future is in your hands.
Joe Grant
