Stella M. McLaughlin, 93, wife of the late James E. McLaughlin, formerly of Abington and North Grafton, Mass., died at her home in Damariscotta on June 4, 2013.

Stella was born on April 9, 1920 in Bath, a daughter of Evie and Regina Babine. She was one of 12 brothers and sisters, and was employed at the Bath Telephone Company for many years. She loved ballroom dancing, crafts, quilting and solving puzzles.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher Caplice.

Stella is survived by her sister, Claire Sturgeon of Bath; son, Alan McLaughlin (formerly of Boothbay) and wife Marika Jansson of Damariscotta; daughter, Donna Caplice and her husband Joseph, of Duxbury, Mass.; grandchildren, Alyssa Mellow and husband Peter of Whitman, Mass., and Sean Caplice of Boston; great-grandchildren, Madeline and William Mellow; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7 at St. Patrick's Church in Newcastle. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old St. Patrick Church Fund, P.O.
