Election 2012
Stephanie Hawke comments on early returns
Twenty-five supporters and family members joined Stephanie Hawke on election night at her Boothbay Harbor home to celebrate her campaign and await the results of District 61.
By 9:30 p.m., Hawke had learned her opponent, Bruce MacDonald, had beaten her by 40 votes in Boothbay Harbor.
Hawke worked a regular day at her business Hawke Motors taking time away just long enough to vote.
“It's very nice to be at the end,” Hawke said of the campaign. “I've met a lot of great people. And they were excited about my candidacy, I think, because I was a working person. I couldn't get out and campaign as much as I wanted to, but it's all good.”
