Still room for more cool vehicles
The OBD Williams-Fossett Vintage Car Show, now in its 11th year, has changed locations over the years for differing reasons.
The annual show was welcomed in its first year by the Bristol Consolidated School with only 11 participating vehicles, then moved to Fort William Henry, relocated to the former Harbor Room restaurant lot due to a restrictive culture at the park, then invited back to the school by principal Jennifer Ribeiro in 2023 with more than 40 cool vehicles doing the show. Vintage Show organizers enthusiastically thank Principal Ribeiro along with staffers Godofredo Arzate Patiño and Nicole St Cyr for the warm welcome-back and key day-of logistical assistance.
Now, through the generosity of property owner Xavier Cervera, and due to construction activities at the school, the 2024 show will move back to the former Harbor Room restaurant, now completely renovated and rebranded as the future Point North and slated to premiere next season. The Vintage Show will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The show is part of the wider weekend of Olde Bristol Days liveliness ... a fun festival of action and motion for the entire family. “Motion” also describes the annual Olde Bristol Day Parade. Vintage and interesting vehicles are invited to drive in the parade, which stages in the same location beginning at 9 a.m., leaving promptly at 10 a.m. prior to the car show.
Free show and parade registrations for vintage and collectible cars, trucks and motorcycles continues at jftv1@verizon.net and 207-677-3707. Organizers suggest reserving spot(s) now.
