Storm drops several inches in Lincoln County, more expected
If anyone has managed to avoid having their driveway plowed in Lincoln County’s earlier snowfalls, that run is likely at an end. The county had several inches of snow on the ground by December 15, with some more accumulation expected, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Gray office said.
On a bright note for winter’s fans and non-fans alike, Central Maine Power was reporting no outages in Lincoln County.
NWS meteorologist Margaret Curtis estimated the county had received eight to 10 inches of snow as of 8 a.m. Snow and blowing snow would likely continue through about midday for the midcoast, Curtis said.
The weather service had received no morning readings for the snowfall in Lincoln County. The nearest was from Bath in neighboring Sagadahoc County, with 8 inches reported, Curtis said.
A winter storm warning remained in effect for Lincoln County until 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was reporting a couple slide-off accidents overnight, with no injuries.
