Storytree Theatre performance and winter session
The Merry Barn was recently transformed for Storytree Theatre’s world premiere of “The Cracked Talent Show.” Inspired by the treasures and secret worlds in the floorboards of the barn, Llivera Blagdon, Max Penny, Sebastian Reiter, Finley Pierce, Eben Lytle, Nora and Arlo Appelli, Gideon Lichtinger and Leo Heiligenthal, wrote and performed this original work. With the assistance of Lincoln Academy student, Anna Lupien, the young actors designed and painted the set, created costumes, and delighted an audience of family and friends. Directed and produced by Teralyn Reiter, performing artist, teacher, and founder of Storytree Theatre, the play required collaboration and creative risk taking.
Storytree Theatre’s Ready, Set, PLAY! is geared toward children in grades 1-4. Participants explore the FUNdamentals of theatre and develop skills in performance, collaboration, and communication. Kids write, design, and ultimately perform the world premiere of their very own play. The next session of Storytree Theatre at the Merry Barn begins on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Classes meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The world premiere will take place on May 21 (no class over April vacation.) There is a cost for the session and financial assistance is available.
