Substance use prevention meeting in Wiscasset Oct. 23
At a time when drug use and addiction are of frequent conversation, Healthy Lincoln County invites the public to participate in the Substance Use Prevention Partnership (SUPP) and join its efforts to reduce youth substance use by attending its next meeting on Oct. 23.
The group has been working with a group of community leaders and youth to prevent youth substance use for over three years. The group is known as the SUPP Coalition, whose mission is to strengthen our communities to support alcohol and drug free youth in Lincoln County. Each month, youth trends and prevention strategies are discussed in a collaborative manner with representation from across the county. October’s SUPP meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Wiscasset Community Center.
“We are concerned with making sure the youth here in our community have healthy, strong futures. We want to equip young people, parents, schools, law enforcement and everyone with the tools to prevent youth drug and alcohol use, and prevent it from affecting their futures,” said Kate Marone Martin, director of Healthy Lincoln County.
No fees or registration are required to join a meeting. Email with any questions: info@healthylincolncounty.org or call 563-1330.
