American Legion Post 54 of Wiscasset Auxiliary will host a suicide prevention talk at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the post’s hall, 523 Bath Road. Shamera Simpson from American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will speak.

An auxiliary Facebook post Sept. 27, about the talk, stated September is National Suicide Awareness Month. “Every day, we lose 22 American veterans to suicide. Awareness and communication are the key to knowledge.”
