Supper and contra dance Oct. 25 to celebrate farming in Maine
All are invited to attend the upcoming “Farmers’ Feast Dinner and Dance” on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Arlington Grange in Whitefield.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with social time and an indoor-plant sale, and supper starts at 5 p.m. The menu includes ham, homemade squash soup, roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, potatoes, and applesauce. All vegetables will be organic, grown my local farms and vegan. There will also be rolls from a local baker, cider from local orchards, a wide array of delicious homemade desserts including gluten-free choices, and coffee and tea.
After dinner, the tables will be cleared away for contra dancing at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by two well-known musicians Toki Oshima and John Pranio of North Whitefield. Folks will also be available to teach the basics to anyone who wants to join in the fun but is new to contra dancing.
The Grange is the yellow building on the left side of Route 126/Gardner Road just after the 218/126 intersection. If coming from the south, take either Route 218, 215, 213 or 32 to Route 126 then turn left. If coming from the north take Route 218 south to 126 and turn right. Turn left onto Arlington Lane just before the Grange.
