“La La Land” - The story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts. With modern day Los Angeles as the backdrop, this musical about everyday life explores what is more important: a once-in-a-lifetime love or the spotlight.
Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle, “La La Land" has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards. Reviewing for Vulture, David Edelstein said, “To rhapsodize about La La Land is to complete the experience. You want to sing its praises, literally.”

“Fences” - August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play comes to the big screen. A black garbage collector named Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington) in 1950s Pittsburgh is bitter that baseball's color barrier was only broken after his own heyday in the Negro Leagues, Maxson is prone to taking out his frustrations on his loved ones. DRA Wild and Scenic Film Festival: “What Will Your Legacy Be?” - These thirteen shorts focus on the power each of us has to make positive impacts on the environment. From personal journeys to positive global change, these motivating films offer thought-provoking storytelling that will encourage everyone to think about their own legacy (2 hours, 7 minutes). Musical Classic: “Gypsy” - Often described as one of America’s Greatest Musicals, Gypsy comes to life in 2015’s stunning West End production of Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne, and Stephen Sondheim’s. Gypsy is loosely based on the 1957 memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist, and focuses on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with "the ultimate show business mother." It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. The character of Louise is based on Lee, and the character of June is based on Lee's sister, the actress June Havoc. The musical contains many songs that became popular standards, including "Everything's Coming up Roses", "Together (Wherever We Go)", "Small World", "You Gotta Get a Gimmick", "Let Me Entertain You", "All I Need Is the Girl", and "Rose's Turn". “Jackie” - A searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). Jackie places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband's assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband's legacy and the world of "Camelot" that they created and loved so well.

NT Live: “St Joan” Gemma Arterton is Joan of Arc, broadcast live from the Donmar Warehouse. Bernard Shaw’s classic play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. As one of the first Protestants and nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe. Playing Thursday, Feb. 16 live at 2 p.m. and rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Appropriate for audiences 12 and older.
