Tom Block remembrance Aug. 7
There has been an outpouring of nostalgia, love and thanks for all that Tom Block did for others, and it feels like we all want to get together to remember this unique man and the impact he had on our lives. Tom was never a maudlin fellow, so it seems an upbeat gathering that celebrates his life, the music he loved, the art he created, and the students (kid or adult) he taught with such care would be the most appropriate. Please join me and too many others to list here in a relaxed social atmosphere at The Morris Farm on Monday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. to share our Tom Block stories, reflect on his role in our lives, and share much needed hugs all around.
Arrive as early as 6 as we’ll begin sharing stories (via a mic so we all can hear) around 7, and we’ll pick everything up and head home around 9 p.m. This is a chem free event so all can attend. We’ll have coffee, tea, lemonade, iced tea, and whatever cookies, cheese/crackers, etc. that folks bring along to share. If you want to bring something along to fit your taste or dietary needs feel free (note the chem free please). The goal is the sharing, the stories, the music, and of course the hugs. Everyone is invited.
Please pass the word along to folks you know, repost this to your timeline, call those not yet on FB, and bring a friend. Want to play a song? Bring your instrument if you so choose. There will be laughter and tears, so probably bring some tissues too. I hope you can come. If you can’t, I know you are celebrating Tom’s gifts in your own way, no worries. See you on the 7th.
