Towle receives farewell from WMHS
Departing Wiscasset Middle High School Principal Cheri Towle got a cake and surprise celebration from faculty and staff Oct. 21.
Teacher Melissa Burgess and her students made the cake, technology coordinator Deb Pooler said. Towle also received a card and a gift certificate to a local spa. October 23 was set to be Towle’s last day on the job before beginning her new one as Brewer’s superintendent of schools.
Wednesday’s celebration was held right after school, Pooler writes in an email response to the Wiscasset Newspaper. “Science teacher Ralph Keyes said a short farewell thanking Cheri for her service and wishing her the very best in her new job ... Cheri responded with a heartfelt farewell, wishing everyone success for the rest of the school year and (stating) that the staff has done a great job so far. She also said that she will miss everyone,” Pooler writes.
