Tracey S. Riggens
Tracey S. Riggens of Boothbay, Maine passed away, March 14, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Huntington’s disease. Tracey’s grace and composure during this trying time, which she referred to as “her lot,” are an inspiration to all of us.
Born June 30, 1960 in New York and a graduate of Bates College, Tracey was a resident of the Boothbay region for over 40 years.
She was an assistant curator for 22 years at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences for the Provasoli-Guillard National Center for Marine Algae & Microbiota.
Tracey loved gardening, birds, and animals of all kinds. She also enjoyed fishing/camping in the Maine north woods and seeing and hearing loons. Tracey loved every genre of music and especially loved Christmas!
Her blueberry pie was a specialty.
Tracey’s smile, laugh and positive attitude will be missed, but a memory to hold dear. Her family, friends and local charities were also benefactors of her endless generosity.
Tracey was preceded in death by her dear husband and soulmate of 33 years, Arthur (Art) Riggens. Art was the boiler technician at the Department of Marine Resources for 30 years.
Surviving are her stepchildren; Heather Riggens, Sarah Riggens and Nathan Riggens and granddaughter, Chloe Riggens.
Tracey’s family and friends would like to thank Sussman House in Rockport, Maine for their extra love and care while taking care of Tracey.
