Traffic restrictions in Bath Wednesday
The Maine Department of Transportation's ongoing paving and safety improvements work on Route 1 from Brunswick to the Sagadahoc Bridge will involve new traffic restrictions in Bath on Wednesday, May 6th.
Drivers may encounter traffic stops at the State Street on-ramp to Route 1 northbound in Bath for up to five minutes while crews pave the on-ramp area. Local traffic may use city side roads. Once the paving operation has passed, the ramp will have a stop sign for traffic.
The High Street off-ramp from Route 1 northbound in Bath will be closed for approximately two hours at some point on Wednesday to accommodate paving operations. Traffic will be diverted into Bath via Leeman Highway to the traffic light at Washington Street. Traffic will make a left-hand turn onto Washington Street at the light, proceeding to Centre Street. At the traffic light at Centre Street, traffic will make a left and proceed to High Street, where the detour will end. We will have the detour route clearly marked and message boards in place.
The work creating these specific traffic impacts should be finished on Wednesday. We expect to complete all the paving and safety improvements work on this project by the end of August.
