Twin Villages ArtWalk November 6
Celebrate the sixth Twin Villages ArtWalk on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m., a free, self-guided walking and driving tour of art shows in Damariscotta and Newcastle.
Over 22 businesses and galleries will be participating, many staying open beyond their regular hours. Some will have music, some refreshments, and some will have both, but all will be showcasing amazing talent in a welcoming atmosphere. Most venues are in a walkable area downtown, but several require a short drive.
Participants in the November ArtWalk include: Artsake Framing Gallery, Damariscotta Pottery (till 5 p.m.), Damariscotta River Grill, Gifts At 136 (silhouettist Ruth Monsell will be there cutting silhouettes and doing caricatures), Jane Dahmen (156 River Road, Newcastle), Jan Kilburn Art Studio (168 Bristol Road), Maine Art Prints (20 Bristol Road), Newcastle Publick House, Newcastle Square Realty Associates, Oyster House Studio & Gallery, Pemaquid Watershed Association, Phelps Architects, Legacy Properties: Sotheby’s International Realty, Pine Tree Yarns, Rising Tide Community Market, River Arts Gallery, with Abbie Williams painting demo, 4-5 p.m. (Route 1 N just beyond Hunt), River Gallery-Fine Art, Salt Bay Trading (Route 1 S., across from Newcastle Chrysler/Dodge), Savory Maine, Skidompha Public Library and The First.
Colorful 11 by 17-inch maps around town, and 4 by 9-inch maps on rack cards contain a list of the participants and contact information. Additionally, most of the participating businesses and galleries will have a yellow ArtWalk flag outside.
The final ArtWalk of 2013 will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The 2014 program will begin in June.
