Twin Villages come together
If the quarters are cramped during most Newcastle Board of Selectmen meetings, just wait: The Twin Villages of Newcastle and Damariscotta are coming together.
The first of the year's joint meetings between the Twin Villages will be Monday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Newcastle Town Offices and will touch upon several issues that affect both towns.
Leading off the meeting will be an update and review on the interlocal agreement featuring Superintendent of Roads Steve Reynolds.
Newcastle's interim town administrator Lynn Maloney will then give the board an update on the train, which was a topic at the last board of selectmen meeting.
Damariscotta town manager Matt Lutkus will give presentations on the pump-out station update and the scenic view on the overlook. The overlook, on Route 1, has become overgrown with trees.
Head of School David Sturdvant will give a presentation to both boards about Lincoln Academy's future plans when it comes to housing students and an update on the dormitory.
The meeting is both open to the public and broadcast on Lincoln County TV.
