Part of Elisif's Story: Screenings & Conversations, this event includes a screening of "Elisif's Story," a 36-minute video exploring the life and struggles of a young woman who died of an overdose, followed by a conversation on how policy and community support can address the pain and isolation of addiction. Maine State Representative Lydia Crafts (District #46), Char Corbett, executive director of Healthy Kids!, and Sharon Bailey, founder of Grieving Hearts of Lincoln County, will share insights on solutions, resources, and the power of connection in recovery.

As part of "Elisif's Story: Screenings & Conversations," this event features a screening of "Elisif's Story," a poignant video exploring the challenges of addiction and recovery, followed by a discussion on local intervention and treatment approaches. Topics include finding help in Lincoln County, the evolving role of law enforcement and first responders, and the growing recognition of MAT as the standard of care. Holly Stover (Maine State Representative, District #48), Nick Loscocco (OPTIONS liaison, Lincoln County), and Lauren Hunt (Harm Reduction Program coordinator, MaineGeneral) will be present to share their expertise.

As part of Elisif's Story: Screenings & Conversations, this event begins with a 5 to 6 p.m. reception for Studio B’s Wiscasset Youth Art Show, with remarks at 5:30, followed by a screening of "Elisif's Story" at 6:30. The 36-minute film explores the turbulent life of a young woman who died of an overdose, highlighting the impact of loss and the role of community in healing. After the screening, a panel discussion will address what truly helps prevent substance use among young people, with insights from Jonathan Barnes (Wiscasset Police, former SRO at Wiscasset Middle High School), Haley Bezon (founder and director, Hearty Roots), and Will Matteson (Substance Use Prevention coordinator, Healthy Lincoln County).
