VentiCordi concert to be live-streamed
VentiCordi Chamber Music returns to the Lincoln Theater, Sunday, March 7 at 1 p.m. to perform a live-streamed concert. Please join VentiCordi’s Artistic Directors, oboist Kathleen McNerney and violinist Dean Stein, along with guest artists Catherine Hudgins, clarinet, Kimberly Lehmann, viola, and Andrew Mark, cello for a performance of exciting chamber music.
This concert includes the works of American composers John Corigliano and Randall Thompson, as well as the British composer Benjamin Britten and Natalie Hunt of New Zealand.
John Corigliano’s piece ‘The Food of Love’ was written in 2019 for his dear friends to celebrate the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Benjamin Britten’s “Oboe Phantasy,” considered one of Britten’s finest chamber works, was dedicated to the great English oboist Leon Goosens. Natalie Hunt’s inventive clarinet quartet, written in the aftermath of New Zealand’s Kaikōura earthquake will leave the listener wanting to hear more music from this gifted young composer. The concert concludes with Randall Thompson’s “Trio for Oboe, Clarinet and Viola,” delightful, pure Americana.
