Dear Editor: 

The mettle of an individual is often measured in their tenacity, spirit and fortitude.   

Living next door to and watching the work efforts of Sherry Lyons, urges us endorse her as Alna’s representative to the RSU school board.  In the short time she has lived here, she has built gardens, pruned and planted trees, improved the interior of her house, developed a chicken roost, and had the time (let alone energy) to stack 4-5 cords of wood yearly for her three winters in Alna.  More importantly, Sherry has taken part in the workings of Alna – helping to make it a great place to lie.  She is currently a member of the pantry team, the Climate Action Committee, and an integral part of the road committee which presented their comprehensive Alna Road Plan to the Select Board on March 13.  In short, Sherry has the enthusiasm and energy to serve Alna well as a member of the RSU12 board. 

Sherry’s interest in the educational system is well founded, having been a teacher for nearly 40 years.  During that time she has gained a knowledge of the system(s) from instruction through administrative involvement.  She has taught at several levels and served on faculty committees. 

Sherry Lyons’ energy and experience is worthy of ourvote and we hope you will join us in electing her as Alna’s representative to the RSU 12 board of directors.
