"All We Imagine As Light" - (NR; 1 hour, 58 minutes) - In bustling Mumbai, head nurse Prabha (Kani Kusruti) finds her steady routine upended when an unexpected gift from her estranged husband in Germany forces her to confront old wounds. Meanwhile, her younger roommate Anu (Divya Prabha), a new hire at the hospital, struggles to carve out a private space in the crowded city for a secret romance with a Muslim man—one she must hide from her strict Hindu family. Their coworker, cook Parvaty (Chhaya Kadam), faces the threat of eviction, adding another layer of tension. Director Payal Kapadia, Cannes Grand Prize winner for her debut, masterfully captures the vibrant textures of contemporary working-class Mumbai and the serene beauty of a nearby beach town. When a spontaneous trip to the coast provides a rare escape, the women find a space to express their deepest desires and dreams. "The Bostonians" - (1984; NR, 2 hours, 2 minutes) - Merchant Ivory Series selection - Enjoy a light lunch (served at 12:30 p.m.) and a classic film from Merchant Ivory’s stunning catalogue of historical literary dramas. Based on Henry James' novel, this tells the story of Olive Chancellor, a 19th-century Boston woman dedicated to the suffrage movement who takes Verena Tarrant, a radical young woman, under her wing. But her cousin is a male chauvinist who wants to marry and domesticate the young woman and a battle of wills ensues over her future. Stars Christopher Reeve and Vanessa Redgrave. One show only Tuesday, Feb. 25 - film at 1 p.m.
Harbor Theater is open for 2 p.m. matinees on Wednesday (OCAP – Open Caption Screening) and Sunday (regular screening). Shows are offered Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children under 18. Member prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children under 18.
