This week at the Harbor Theater
"Becoming Led Zeppelin" - (PG13; 2 hours, 2 minutes) - 'Becoming Led Zeppelin' is an electrifying deep dive into the origins of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Charting the individual journeys of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham, the documentary follows their early days performing in small clubs throughout Britain and playing some of the biggest hits of the 1960s. Everything changes in the summer of 1968 when a fateful rehearsal brings them together—setting the stage for rock history.
The only officially sanctioned documentary on Led Zeppelin, Becoming Led Zeppelin features new interviews with Page, Plant, and Jones, along with rare archival footage of Bonham. Directed by Bernard MacMahon, the film blends stunning never-before-seen footage, electrifying performances, and the band’s own words to create an immersive, psychedelic journey through their meteoric rise. More than just a music documentary, Becoming Led Zeppelin is an intimate look at the band’s creative and personal evolution, capturing the raw energy, ambition, and magic that changed rock ‘n’ roll forever. Wednesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. (OCAP) and Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m.
"Captain America: Brave New World" - (PG13; 1 hour, 59 minutes) - A new era begins as Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) steps fully into the role of Captain America, but his mission is far from simple. When a high-stakes rescue mission leads to the discovery of a mysterious package, Sam and his Falcon-in-training Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) are invited to the White House by newly elected President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) for a pivotal international treaty announcement. However, what should be a moment of unity quickly turns into a global crisis. As chaos erupts, Sam finds himself entangled in a dangerous conspiracy with world-altering consequences. With enemies lurking in the shadows and trust in short supply, he must work alongside his mentor Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) to uncover the true mastermind behind the chaos—before it's too late. Blending high-octane action, political intrigue, and the weight of a new legacy, "Captain America: Brave New World" is a thrilling next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, proving that being Captain America isn’t just about wielding the shield—it’s about standing for what’s right, no matter the cost. Opening Friday, March 28, 7 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 7 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, April 3, 7 p.m.
“What distinguishes Captain America: Brave New World, blissfully under two hours, is that action is kept to a relative minimum, and the actors are actually allowed to find and deepen their cardboard characters, including Danny Ramirez as Falcon.” – G. Allen Johnson, San Francisco Chronicle
