This week at The Harbor Theatre: ‘No God, No Master’ and ‘Muppets Most Wanted’
“No God, No Master” PG-13
"A powerful, compelling movie, " is what Film Critic Jeffrey Lyons had to say of our mid-week offering. What will you say?
When a series of package bombs show up on the doorsteps of prominent politicians and businessmen in the summer of 1919, U.S. Bureau of Investigation Agent William Flynn (David Strathairn) is assigned the task of finding those responsible. He becomes immersed in an investigation that uncovers an anarchist plot to destroy democracy. Based on true events of the 1920s, the film sets the stage for a timely drama with resoundingly similar parallels to the contemporary war on terrorism and the role government plays to defeat it.
“No God, No Master” was directed, written and produced by Terry Green. Filmed in Milwaukee, Wis., at 42 different locations (including Villa Terrace, South Shore Park Pavilion, City Hall and the old Pabst Brewery). The film stars: David Strathairn, an Independent Spirit Award winner, Academy Award nominee, two time Golden Globe nominee. Strathairn's other films include “Good Night and Good Luck” “Lincoln,” and “The Bourne Ultimatum;” Sam Witwer (Emmy nominee, co-star of Syfy's “Being Human” and “Crank;” Alessandro Mario and Ray Wise.
