This week at the Lincoln Theater
The new Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” opens at Lincoln Theater Friday. According to Rolling Stone magazine, “The freewheelin' singer-songwriter gets the “Walk the Line” treatment — and thanks to the movie's star, it's damn near electric.” Enough said.
"All We Imagine as Light" - (NR; 1 hour, 58 minutes – In Malayalam with English subtitles) The light, the lives, and the textures of contemporary, working-class Mumbai are explored and celebrated by writer/director Payal Kapadia, who won the Grand Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for her revelatory fiction feature debut. Kapadia’s film alights on moments of connection and heartache, hope and disappointment. "All We Imagine as Light" is a soulful study of the transformative power of friendship and sisterhood, in all its complexities and richness. Final showtime: Thursday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m.
"Notorious" - (1946; 1 hour, 42 minutes) - The fifth film in Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club “Lights, Cameras, Classics.” Alfred Hitchcock directs three iconic stars in one sexy thriller. Grant and Bergman scorch the screen as their smoking-hot romance jeopardizes their mission – and could cost them their lives. We are pleased to be joined by film historian and CFC host, Jeannie MacDonald, for a pre-film introduction and post-screening talkback. Playing Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. Admission at regular film ticket prices, Free for CFC Members.
