Westport Island board nods generator deal
Since Westport Island First Selectman George Richardson found no record the board voted on the $8,100 contract with Mid-Maine Generator for the town office’s generator, the board Monday voted unanimously for it.
Richardson said there were notes about plans to have him or Second Selectman Gerald Bodmer sign the contract. And Bodmer signed it, Richardson said. Town meeting voters approved the generator, so Monday’s vote was “just in case we didn’t” vote on the contract, Richardson said. The board then voted to pay the firm $260 for servicing the generator.
Federal Emergency Management Agency and capital funds and E. Davies Allan’s $1,000 donation got the town the generator, town officials have said.
Also Monday, the board approved buying $1,502 in materials for the handicap access ramp at the town-owned Wright Landing House.
