What's coming up at Adult Ed
During the last week of October at Boothbay Region Adult Ed, you can unlock the potential of your iPad or iPhone, learn more about using your digital camera, and hear ghost stories of the Boothbay Region, and increase your job skills by learning Excel.
Greg Latimer, author of "Ghosts of the Boothbay Region," will reveal the "stories behind the stories" on Monday, October 26. Learn the history behind the haunts around the Boothbay area such as Burnt and Ram Islands, the Opera House, Hendricks Head, and others. The time is 6:30-8 p.m. and the fee is $10.
Take control of your Apple iPad or iPhone device! Learn the fundamentals of your device, basic commands, multitouch gestures, customization and settings. Mail messages, photos, camera and more. Bring your iPad or iPhone to class. This five session class is on Mondays, October 26 - November 23, 6-8 p.m. and the fee is $50.
In Get to Know Your Digital Camera, gain a better understanding of your camera’s features. We'll discuss basics, automatic settings, exposure modes, flash and how to customize settings. Bring your digital camera (w/fresh batteries) and manual to this hands-on class. This two session class is on October 27 and 29, 6-8 p.m. The fee is $30.
Basic Excel is a hands -on introduction to Excel 2010, a powerful, industry-leading spread- sheet application. Learn the basics of worksheets, how to use tools and functions, set-up a worksheet. The prerequisite is basic computer and keyboarding skills. The class meets on October 27, 28 and 29 from 6-8 p.m. The fee is $38.
