Will Kefauver’s ‘Countryside/Seaside’ art exhibit opens in Damariscotta
Pemaquid Watershed Association’s (PWA) office gallery is showcasing Will Kefauver’s art exhibit, “Countryside/Seaside” through April 18. The exhibit may be viewed weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by visiting PWA above Salt Bay Café in downtown Damariscotta.
After many years in the publishing industry as an illustrator, graphic designer, art director and executive, Kefauver returned to painting — primarily in plein air and primarily in oils.
His work depicts the moods of the landscapes of Maine and New England, from the rugged barns and beaches of the Midcoast to the silver birches of a Vermont river.
Kefauver has both studied and been an instructor at the School of Visual Arts and the Katonah Arts Center in New York. He is a signature member of the National Society of Artists and the Bristol Road Galleries. For many years, Kefauver was a board member and vice president of the Kent Art Association in Connecticut.
His work has appeared in juried shows across the country and has received many awards. Kefauver is donating 35 percent of the proceeds from sales to support PWA’s mission of conserving the natural resources of the Pemaquid peninsula.
