Wiscasset gets insurance dividend

Wiscasset Town Manager Marian Anderson is pleased to announce Wiscasset has received a dividend check of $6,970 from the Maine Municipal Association, as a result of the town’s good loss experience and loss prevention programs. Donald Vickery of Maine Municipal Association’s Risk Management Services hand-delivered the check Aug. 23.
The programs are overseen by governing boards of elected and appointed municipal officials. Each year, the boards review each program's loss experience to determine if dividends may be paid.
Patricia Kablitz, Director of Risk Management Services for MMA, said more than 77 percent of program participants received a dividend this year for their good risk management practices and loss experience.
