Tuesday, March 4, the Town of Wiscasset proudly unveiled its brand new website, accessible at www.wiscasset.gov. This newly launched site replaces the previous www.wiscasset.org, offering enhanced security and a more user-friendly experience. Visitors to the old site will be seamlessly redirected to the new, secure .gov domain.

Choice of CivicPlus: A Commitment to Empowering Government

Last fall, the Town of Wiscasset conducted a comprehensive review of several website providers. After thorough research, Town staff chose CivicPlus for its intuitive design, powerful suite of tools, and robust functionality. The CivicPlus platform will consolidate the Town's texting service, government website, and facility software while integrating agenda development and ordinance codification—all within one efficient and transparent website.

New Website Features:

• Online Payments: Links to various online payment options, including property taxes, vehicle registration, and fish & wildlife licenses.
• Form & Document Center: Easy access to forms and documents.
• GIS Mapping: Direct links to the Town’s new GIS Mapping System.
• Notify ME: Sign up for the Town’s new Text My Gov System for various notifications.
• Ordinances: Codified ordinances for easier access and transparency.
• Calendar: An updated town calendar for events and meetings.
• Alert Center: Important alerts and notifications.
• Agenda/Meeting Center: Comprehensive access to meeting agendas and minutes.
• User-friendly/ Accessibility Compliance: The new website is ADA accessible attractive, engaging, and more intuitive.

Collaborative Development and Funding

Town staff collaborated with CivicPlus over the winter to develop the new website and ensure a smooth transition. The new site is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), reflecting the Town's commitment to leveraging federal resources for community benefit.
