Wiscasset Middle High School student struck by car while crossing road to board bus
WINDSOR — State Police say a Wiscasset Middle High School student was struck on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 24 as he crossed the road to board a waiting school bus.
According to a news release from State Police, the mishap took place on Route 17 in Windsor just after 7 a.m. It was snowing in the area.
Troopers said Tennyson Lincoln, 14, of Somerville was struck by a car in the westbound land. The vehicle was operated by Eileen Bayer, 51, of Union.
The release states the bus had stopped in the opposite lane with its lights flashing, at the intersection with Griffin and Vigue Roads.
Lincoln was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral where he was treated for bumps and bruises and released.
Bayer was charged with failing to stop for a school bus.
Lincoln lives a short distance away and was waiting for the bus at the intersection, according to the news release.
