The Wiscasset School Committee will meet with an attorney for the School Department on Sept. 4, to continue preparing for upcoming negotiations with teachers, support staff and administrators, Committee Chairman Steve Smith said.

Thursday’s executive, or closed-door, session with the lawyer is part of the agenda for the committee’s special, 6:30 p.m. meeting at Wiscasset High School.

In open session, the panel is set to meet with Wiscasset High School Assistant Principal Sarah Ricker, about a report on professional development. The committee also plans to review a policy on the school resource officer. Wiscasset voters agreed in June to add the position to the Wiscasset Police Department.
