Wiscasset town report takes third place
Wiscasset’s 2013 town report that came out last spring has snagged third place, or the “excellence” designation, in a statewide contest. Among 250 entrants in the Maine Municipal Association’s (MMA) Annual Town Report Competition, Wiscasset’s was one of 17 reports honored, according to an announcement selectmen received.
Town reports were judged on their completeness, clarity and organization and on their visual design, the announcement states.
The MMA breaks towns into divisions by population for the contest. Wiscasset’s report was up against others from towns with 2,500 to 4,999 residents.
First place in Wiscasset’s division went to Vassalboro’s town report, garnering it the “supreme” tag; Richmond’s town report tied with the Mapleton-Castleton-Chapel Hill entry, for second place or “superior.”
The MMA recognized contest winners at its convention held Oct. 1 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Wiscasset’s award is an honor for the town and serves as recognition for the town’s hard-working staff, Town Manager Marian Anderson said Oct. 17.
