Wok 'n Grill opens in Boothbay Harbor

There's a new restaurant in town: the Wok 'n Grill, located in the former Hot Tamale at 28 Union Street.
Wok 'n Grill is a pan Asian restaurant, which means they have a mix of food from many Asian cultures. These include Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Japanese and Thai.
The owners are Papito and Connie Juntura, who have run restaurants in the Midcoast area for around 20 years.
“Our food is very traditional,” said Charissa Juntura, the front end manager and owner's daughter. “And I think by offering delivery we will have an advantage over local competition.”
Delivery is one area the peninsula is lacking, with zero local places that offered it until now. There is a $2 charge for destinations close to the restaurant, while slightly further away areas (such as on the outskirts of Boothbay) will have a $3 charge.
The Wok 'n Grill opened on Saturday, Nov. 23 to a hungry early bird shopper crowd. According to Juntura, they are doing well so far.
“We wanted to start up in the winter so we'd be prepared to deal with the spring and summer crowds, and so locals would have a chance to learn about us,” Juntura said.
One Boothbay Harbor local, Billie Howard-Goldsmith, is excited about the Wok ‘n Grill.
“We ate over there the other night. It was AWESOME, good prices, and friendly staff. I hope they make it,” Goldsmith said.
During summer, the Wok 'n Grill will have outdoor as well as indoor seating, and will serve “Bubble Tea,” a traditional Asian beverage which Juntura describes as “similar to a milk tea with chewy tapioca pearls on the bottom.” The tea will come in multiple flavors such as strawberry, mango and watermelon.
