Woman with Woolwich ties accepts new role with foundation
Part-time Woolwich resident Elizabeth Hilpman has been named chairman of the Maine Community Foundation’s investment committee.
“I'm really honored to be selected,” Hilpman, also of New York City, said in a telephone interview August 19.
Hilpman described Maine as a very important part of her life. “That's why I accepted the invitation to serve on the board,” she said.
Hilpman joined the foundation's board in 2010, according to a press release from the organization.
Currently a partner at the investment advisory firm Barlow Partners, Hilpman is a former investment manager at Global Asset Management; she also previously served as director of alternative manager research at Dubin & Swieca; an investment officer at Dartmouth College; and a vice president at Commonfund, according to the foundation's release.
Hilpman is taking over the investment committee chairmanship from Peter Rothschild of Islesboro and New York City. He has been named the foundation's chief investment officer.
With offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the statewide organization works with donors and other partners to improve all Mainers' quality of life, the release continues. For more information, visit www.mainecf.org or call 1-877-700-6800.
