On Friday, July 19, participants of the Wiscasset Public Library’s Summer Reading Program received an introduction to the world of geology. Environmental Specialist III Erich Kluck from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection discussed continental drift, subduction zones, volcanoes, types of rocks, and Maine gemstones. This event was part of the Children’s Room, “Dig Into Reading” Summer Program, and was made possible through the generous support received from The Friends of the Library, local businesses and individuals.
