Yankee Magazine recognizes Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens has been recognized as a 2014 “Editors’ Choice Home & Garden Award” winner in Yankee Magazine’s March/April issue, on newsstands February 25. This exclusive designation recognizes Yankee’s editors’ favorite New England home and gardens shops, public gardens, garden ornaments and furniture, garden accessories and restaurant gardens. This issue also features articles on growing a garden for all seasons, foolproof roses and flower festivals.
“There are few better ways to welcome spring’s arrival than with thoughts of growing things that bring beauty and nourishment to our lives,” Maine Yankee Editor Mel Allen said. “Yankee’s Home & Garden Awards (p. 106) serves as a guide for both new and experienced gardeners. We’ve chosen beautiful public gardens to visit; nurseries where plants that thrive in New England await; 14 flower and veggie varieties to plant this year; even garden-themed restaurants, where the setting alone is worth the visit. If you’re ready to spring into action, we offer expert advice from two rose growers whose words of wisdom may change how you look at your own blooms.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized by Yankee Magazine as a favorite New England garden destination,” Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Director of Marketing Kris Folsom said. “The long winter has created much anticipation for what spring will bring this year. Visitors can look forward to colorful displays as well as special programming which will highlight this year’s theme: Pollinators!”
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is open year-round. Admission fees are charged April 15 through October. The schedule of events, directions to the Gardens, admission fees, and more information can be found at www.mainegardens.org.
