Custodian-Rockport

Custodial Position (Full-time)- Rockport
Tuesday-Friday 1pm-9:30p; Saturdays 7a-3:30pm. Saturdays hours are subject to change.

$17-18/hour

We are looking for self-motivated and dependable person who has a demonstrated ability to work independently to join our facilities team at the Penobscot Bay Y. Make a difference by working for a non-profit in your community by helping us to provide a clean facility for your community to enjoy.

Primary Duties:

Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment at the Penobscot Bay YMCA. Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning locker rooms/bathrooms, cleaning childcare center, wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.

Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.

Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.

Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.

Replaces soap, paper towels, sanitizer, and other supplies.

May set up furniture for events.

Qualifications:
Six months or more of related experience preferred.

Previous maintenance experience
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and equipment.

Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.

Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
