Lincoln County Regional Planning looks at housing at 2018 annual meeting
Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission holds its 2018 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 19 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the 1812 Farm in Bristol. In addition to a brief annual meeting, the LCRPC is pleased to present guest speaker Erin Cooperrider who’ll discuss regional housing issues and strategies. Housing is a critical issue in Lincoln County communities – affordability, supply, workforce housing, senior housing (aging in place), and transitional housing needs.
Erin Cooperrider, an Edgecomb resident, is a partner at NewHeight Group, a Portland-based development firm and the development director for Community Housing of Maine, a 23-year old non-profit affordable housing developer also based in Portland. In her work with NewHeight Group, Erin manages permitting, financing, and the construction process. During her tenure at CHOM, Erin helped to grow the organization’s asset base from $7 to more than $60 million.
Before joining CHOM in 2002, Erin worked in commercial real estate development in Maine, and asset management and real estate development consulting outside of Maine. Erin was a co-founder of The Signal Group, a 22-year old real estate services company based in Portland, Maine.
She currently chairs the board of directors of CEI, Inc. and serves on the Advisory Council of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. Erin received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her graduate degree from Stanford University.
The Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission is the economic development and planning organization for Lincoln County, led by a board of local residents and officials. The Planning Commission works with municipalities, businesses, and non-profit groups in economic and community development (shore and harbor infrastructure, water and sewer), transportation, coastal resiliency, business growth, brownfields assessments, habitat improvement, community health, broadband, and other activities.
The annual meeting begins at 5 p.m. with networking and refreshments, and includes highlights of the past year and board elections. The meeting is open to the public, and local officials, residents, businesses, and non-profits are encouraged to attend. There is no charge, except for the cash bar. Pre-registrations are requested through www.lcrpc.org, or by calling 882-5983.
