A martial arts instructor who teaches in Randolph was arrested March 7 by State Police and charged with sexual abuse of a minor after allegedly having sex with one of his students.

Brant Perkins, 53, of Edgecomb, is an instructor at the Maine Isshimryu Karate Academy in Randolph. He was arrested by Detective Joshua Birmingham outside the Randolph facility around 7 p.m. The alleged victim is a teenage girl who was one of Perkins' students.  A family friend reported abuse to Maine State Police this week.

Perkins was being held in lieu of $2,500 bail at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
