Book sale in Wiscasset Oct. 12-13
On Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12 and 13, the Friends of Wiscasset Library will hold a “clear the shelves” sale at the Used Book Room at Wiscasset Public Library, offering Used Book Room books and other materials at a staggering 50 percent discount!
The Friends of Wiscasset Library operate the Used Book Room, which is open to the public any time the library is open. The room has been completely renovated over the last three years, and is now a bright, cheerful place to shop for wonderful bargains. Many of these books are in pristine condition and very recent releases, and would make wonderful Christmas gifts. Current prices of $3 for hard cover books, $2 for trade paperbacks, and $1 for mass market paperbacks will be slashed in half, and a large collection of novels which have been priced at four for $1 will also be half price.
Reducing the inventory in the Used Book Room will provide much needed space for our annual Children’s Christmas Sale on Dec. 8, when the Friends will offer area children a wonderful selection of minimally priced gifts for their parents, siblings and other loved ones.
The First Congregational Church will hold its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so stop there for some bratwurst and sauerkraut, and then stroll over to the Used Book Room for some fantastic bargains. The Used Book Room sale will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. All proceeds go to support the library and its programs.
