MDOT Wiscasset Downtown Project update
Maine Department of Transportation announces the following activity in Wiscasset through Oct. 5. All work with the exception of removal of debris at the site of the Haggett building and some of the work on Railroad Avenue will be conducted at night, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Work will continue at the Haggett building demolition site to remove debris.
Crews will stripe Railroad Avenue and Water Street, and complete signage. Seeding and mulching will take place. Work will be done on the brick sidewalks on Water Street. There will be saw cutting for the drainage work on Route 1 and for the curb replacement areas in the Water Street mill and fill section.
Work will continue on the mill and fill Water Street project. At the end of this, the Water Street construction area will be fully milled, and work will continue on drainage for Water Street. The curb will be removed from the mill and fill area, and excavation will take place for the aggregate base and sidewalks. A new aggregate base will be placed.
