The Theater Project to present ‘As You Like It’
The Theater Project continues its 47th season with William Shakespeare’s romantic caper “As You Like It,” directed by Al Miller.
Audiences will delight in this enchanting tale highlighting the many guises of love. Director Al Miller calls “As You Like It” “One of Shakespeare’s cleverest comedies and one of my favorites.” Miller and the cast have developed a fast-paced, inventive take on this beloved Shakespeare classic.
Synopsis: The play follows Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle's court, accompanied by her cousin Celia to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden. Rosalind and Orlando become entangled in an amusing tale of love, desire and mistaken identity.
If you were ever bored or puzzled by the bard in high school English classes, this production will surely win back your appreciation for Shakespeare’s poetry and wit. “Our aim is to delight,” Miller says, “and this is a delightful cast!” Come hear venerated lines such as, “All the world’s a stage!” and see how courtly rules are waived in the Arcadian forest where whim and spontaneity rule the day, as only they can do at The Theater Project!
