On Saturday, Oct. 27, Wiscasset Police Department responded to a report of a double overdose of two juveniles. Wiscasset Ambulance Service transported both to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick for treatment. It was determined the juveniles had consumed several different types of substances obtained through the mail.

The police department would encourage parents to watch what their children receive through the mail. If they receive a package from an unknown address, please feel free to contact Wiscasset Police Department for assistance. We would also like to remind the public that some substances or drugs are activated in the human body, and others simply by touch. Caution should be used to avoid accidental exposure and overdose.
