Laura L. Field
Laura Larkin Field died Jan. 29, 2019 after suffering many years with Huntington’s disease.
She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 6, 1956, one of six children of Paul A. and Alice (True) Larkin.
In 1959, the family moved to Oakland, Maine and in 1968, they moved to Boothbay Harbor, where Laura graduated from Boothbay Region High School. Laura worked at many different jobs, from flipping burgers to collating newspapers. Her favorite job was making fish chowder at the Cabbage Island Clambakes in Boothbay Harbor. Later she lived in Spruce Head, Maine, Rockland, Maine and Florida.
As the disease progressed, she received excellent and loving care at Freeport Nursing Home in Freeport, Maine. Recently, when that facility closed, she was transferred to Brentwood Health and Rehab in Yarmouth, Maine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Field; her father, Paul A. Larkin; a sister, Julia Larkin Berry; a sister, June Larkin Wing; and a brother, Paul T. Larkin.
She is survived by a son, Bryce Larkin of Spruce Head, Maine; her mother, Alice Larkin Larrabee of Boothbay; brothers, Edrick Larkin Sr. and wife Carol, of Southport, Maine and Shawn Larkin and wife Janice, of Madison, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal service.
