Enrollment in Classic Film Club ending soon
The enrollment period for membership in the third season of Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club is fast approaching and will end on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Classic Film Club is the perfect opportunity for those who enjoy classic movies to experience seeing them again, or for the first time, on the big screen. Film club members vote on which films will be shown, and the screenings, held in Damariscotta’s historic Lincoln Hall, are open to the entire community at regular movie ticket prices while remaining free to members of the club.
In the third season of the club, we are celebrating the films of the 1930s - one of Hollywood’s greatest decades. Members vote from a list of 30 films (30 from the thirties) and the top five films selected, plus one “Director’s Choice” will be screened twice each – with Thursday evening and Friday matinee showings. Membership in the club, at $45 per person, includes: participation in selecting the films; admission to all six screenings; small popcorn and water at each film; and a glass of wine/beverage at each film – a value of over $100.
Screenings take place early each month on Thursday nights at 7 and Friday afternoons at 2. The screening dates for the 2019-20 season are: Thursday, Oct. 3; Friday, Oct. 4; Thursday, Nov. 7; Friday, Nov. 8; Thursday, Dec. 5; Friday, Dec. 6; Thursday, Jan. 2; Friday, Jan. 3; Thursday, Feb. 6; Friday, Feb. 7; Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6.
