First National Bank supports student meals program
First National Bank recently donated $1,000 to Healthy Lincoln County’s Summer Meals Program.
The USDA-funded Department of Education Summer Food Service Program, sponsored by Healthy Lincoln County, has worked with 15 local sites to provide children under 18 with access to free, healthy meals throughout the summer months. Last summer, over 12,000 meals were served to the children of Lincoln County.
Due to schools closing in response to Covid-19 precautions, Healthy Lincoln County has launched their summer meal program early. In partnership with AOS 93, Wiscasset schools and community partners, the program has distributed over 8,000 meals in the first two weeks, as reported on their Facebook page.
“Healthy Lincoln County activated their Summer Meals Program immediately to help bridge the gap between school meal programs and their students during this unprecedented time,” said First National Bank President and CEO, Tony McKim. “We’re proud to contribute and thank their team and volunteers for stepping up and providing Lincoln County students with free healthy meals.”
