American Legion Post 54 of Wiscasset is asking people not to attend a Memorial Day wreath-laying and instead view a video recording of it on Facebook or stop by the veterans wall later to view the wreaths, Post Commander William Cossette Jr. said.

Cossette said the Legion, the Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution will lay wreaths at the wall Monday, but there will be no speeches or other ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wiscasset Newspaper has arranged to cover the wreath-laying.
