AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, June 6, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,524 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,253 confirmed cases and 271 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,845 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 98 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 296.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 35 hospitalized, including 14 in critical care and seven on a ventilator. There are 145 available critical care beds out of 397 total and 242 available ventilators of 316 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,297 females have tested positive in the state and 1,227 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:15 p.m.
