A Boothbay Harbor business is moving to Edgecomb. For two years, Nick and Emily Mirabile have owned Harbor Tech Solutions located at 185 Townsend Ave., but the space proved too large for their needs So the couple is moving to the Edgecomb plaza at 25 U.S. Route 1. The couple received unanimous planning board approval Aug. 6 for a change of use to move their business into an empty space beside Compass Rose Events.

The move isn’t the only change. The Mirabiles are changing the name to Windsong Market and will sell pizza, bagels and a small selection of groceries along with their computer connection and Java Tech services. “We moved to Edgecomb two years ago and loved the area,” Emily Mirabile said. “We've struggled in our current spot so we decided to condense our services and sell the same products, but on a smaller scale.” 

The Mirabiles plan on opening Windsong Market during the week of Aug. 10.

In other action, the board tabled a studio facility improvement project for Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.  Executive Director Fran Rudoff told planning board members the project was scheduled for 2021, but the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a schedule change. She reported improvements include demolishing a barn and constructing a year round art studio with  classrooms, glaze room and bathroom downstairs and sleeping rooms, bathroom, kitchen and a common area upstairs.

“I don’t see any problems, but I think we should take our time and review the septic plans, and make a decision in two weeks after the public hearing,” Chairman Barry Hathorne said. 

The board meets next a 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 in the town hall’s upstairs.
